Marc Jacobs was born in New York but grew up in New Jersey with his mother. He then pursued a designing career where he went to schools of design. His career started there where he was maned the youngest designer to receive the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent. His first work was as a stock boy in a clothing boutique in New York City. There he sold his first pieces of hand knitted sweaters. In 1986 he started his first brand of Marc by Marc Jacobs. Then he started receiving many award for women designers. Then it fell apart because he backed by a company in the US. In 1993 he started his own line Marc Jacobs which he first launched men’s wear and was assigned to be Louis Vuitton creative director.
Some of his products include handbags, clothing, and shoes. They include different patterns like zigzags, stripes, poka-dots, and various patterns like that. They also include a lot of color and dark or bright colors. Some are black and white and striped while other products are more floral and a mixture of colors. There are many striped products like handbags, shoes, sweaters, shirts, and pants. These are a mix of variety of colors and others are just two colors which is more popular.
His style is more about reinventions where he mixes different patterns to make a new style. With bold, creative looks that reshape and boost retro shapes, cuts and colors, he is best known for his variations on classic and retro designs. He also gives a new look to vintage clothing and looks. He mixes style from the 1940's and 50’s and bring it to present day fashion, which then he creates a new look that has style and color. His clothing is known to stand out because of the different patterns that he uses.
His clothing style is very different from mine. I don’t really go all out in my clothing style. My dressing style is more simpler and plain with pants and a shirt or a skirt and a blouse or a dress. I don’t really feel comfortable wearing different style that have “loud colors” like his clothing do. I do like how they look on others and how he styles different outfits, but I don’t think I’ll be able to pull it off like that.
